In Mexico, only civil marriages are legally recognized. To be legally married in Mexico, a couple must have a civil ceremony performed by an officer of the Civil Registry. Therefore, a "civil marriage" in Mexico inherently means it is the "official" and legal marriage. There isn't a separate category of "unofficial civil" marriages.
